The Head, Part Deux

The head progresses. I've left in all the chisel marks and even roughed it up a bit-- can't decide if I like the effect or not. I also hammered a lead spiral into the forehead. Tomorrow, I'll make the base...

The Head

Okay, so the weather is awful, the studio is too cold, and I'm out of oxygen until next week. Why not make a head?

This one will be mixed media of some kind, eventually. Right now, it's about 20 inches tall, made from plaster and cement. I modelled it into form, and am now carving back into it. So far, think Modigliani meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind...
